There is a lot that can be covered when defining a brand, this is just a small part of what is usually addressed in a branding project.
We usually start off a brand project outlining the overall objective for the business. This example is a relatively simple project as they can get really complex when including things like website styling, brand style guides, brand language and so much more.
Many times we start with establishing the mood of a brand. Using a collection of images that project the types of emotions we are trying to capture, helps inspire the overall design of the brand.
Name creation can be a tricky process today with most obvious options usually already being taken. We do quite a bit of research and though its not really shown in this example… sometimes we have to get really creative.
Your brands color theme is an important decision. Colors can project certain emotions and you want to make sure you are targeting the emotions that the brand is trying to project as well as avoiding the colors for the emotions you dont want to project.
The logo is one of the most important parts of the brand. It stands as the brands visual representative. It is important that your logo is simplistic and easily remembered. While a complex logo may look nice it is not retained in memory as well as something more simple.
When your overall identity is defined, it is important to reflect that identity in every way possible. Print materials like business cards, envelopes etc.. are constantly passed around throughout your every day interactions. Using these items to display your brand is a great way to put your brand out into the world.
We like to create conceptual working mock-ups of how your brand could exist in the real world. This helps you visualize the impact your brand will have off the screen.
